So, I am asking that you would do either two things:
~The first is to do this with me. I challenge you to cut your weekly grocery budget in half and save the other half for...who knows maybe a date with you and a shoe store. I would be more encouraged to know that I am not the only one doing this. :) (please let me know who's doing this with me!-comment on my blog)
~The second is that I would love it if you would tell me some of your family recipes that stretch. The ingredients must be what a typical person would have in the pantry and feed 3 people. I am taking pictures of all our meals (dinners really) so maybe your meal will be highlighted! I will give you all credit and link to your blog.
Thank you so much for reading, commenting or doing this with me. :)

Wow, what a challenge. Believe me I feel your pain. Milk over here costs $10 a gallon. That sucks!
Alexis, I totally feel your pain. We are fortunate that things cost less here in Mexico. Well, I should say some things. The exchange rate also is in our favor with it being 13 pesos to 1 dollar. Our budget went from whatever I wanted to spend to $400.00 a month. One of the things that is quite easy to do is cutting your meat in half. For us, that means using a 1/2 or 1/4 pound of hamburger in spaghetti instead of a pound, which was really too much meat anyway. If I have any ideas or recipes, I will send them your way. Blessings, Gail
Hi!
I am an old friend of Travis' from High School. I was surfing his blog and ran across yours :D
something that has really helped me when money is tight.
Go buy TVP (textured vegetable protein) it comes in a powder. You can usually find it at a health food store. I buy it in bulk at Winco but I don't know if you have one down there. It has the texture of ground beef or turkey and it takes on what ever flavor you are working with. I usually mix it in a 1:1 ratio. It is super cheap and makes the meat stretch a lot further.
just a thought.
